JACKSON, Miss.- Mississippi will soon receive a grant of $3,277,000 from YouthBuild to support academic and occupational skills training for at-risk-youth.
YouthBuild will be donating the grant to CLIMB Community Development Corp., Mississippi Action for Community Education Inc. and West Jackson Community Development Corp.
The program provides classroom instruction and occupational skills training to people between the ages of 16 and 24 who have been in the juvenile justice system, are aging out of foster care, have dropped out of high school or are at-risk of failing to reach educational and career milestones. These programs enable them to become employed, earn a living wage and follow a career path.
