JACKSON, Miss.–If you’re headed to grandma’s, mamaw’s, nana’s or Auntie Grizelda’s for Thanksgiving, get ready to dish out the dough. Mississippi’s gas prices have been floating around the $3.13 mark all week and that’s what the state-wide average was Thanksgiving morning, according to gasbuddy.com.
Oil expert Trilby Lundberg blames it on crude oil prices going up over the past few weeks, with retailers finally “crying uncle” and passing it on to you.
The cheapest gas was in Southaven, $2.92 at the Sam’s Club.
The most expensive was in Booneville at $3.49.
Lundberg said you can expect to see it go up by possibly another dime before the end of 2013.
