Severe thunderstorms capable of producing large hail and damaging wind gusts are likely Wednesday into Wednesday night across much of Central Mississippi, Northeastern Louisiana, and Southeast Arkansas. In the strongest storms, wind gusts up to 70 MPH and hail up to 2 inches in diameter are possible.
Northern Mississippi–
Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms lasting through this evening, some of those thunderstorms could be severe. Highs today will be in the lower to mid-80s, with lows tonight in the mid-60s.
Central Mississippi–
Partly sunny with showers and thunderstorms possible though tonight, some of those thunderstorms could be severe. Highs today will be in the upper 80s, with the highest heat index readings between 100 and 104 in the afternoon. Lows tonight will be near 70.
Southern Mississippi–
Mostly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms throught tonight, some of those thunderstorms could be severe. Highs today will be in the lower to mid-90s, with heat indez readings anywhere from 105 to 110. Lows tonight will be in the mid-70s.
