The sunshine will be out across Mississippi to help ring in the new calendar year. Here’s your statewide forecast from the National Weather Service.
Northern Mississippi
While the sun will be out, temperatures will drop some. Highs will be in the upper 40s with lows nearing 30 degrees. There could even be some sporadic frost and fog during the nighttime hours.
Central Mississippi
The sun should keep temperatures around the 50-degree mark during the day with lows come sundown dropping into the low 30s. Frost and fog can be expected during the nighttime hours.
Southern Mississippi
Sunshine is expected throughout the day with highs hovering around 60 degrees. Come nighttime, temperatures will drop near the upper 30s as frost could pop up in different areas.
