Severe thunderstorms will be possible late this week, mainly late Thursday night over portions of Mississippi, and then again from Friday afternoon into Friday night. The primary concerns will be for damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph and hail up to quarter size, but a few brief tornadoes can’t be ruled out.
Northern Mississippi–
Sunny today with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs will be in the lower to mid-80s. Becoming mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms possible again overnight. Lows will be in the lower 60s.
Central Mississippi–
Patchy fog this morning, then sunny today with highs in the mid-80s. Becoming mostly cloudy tonight with showers and thunderstorms possible. Lows will be in the lower 60s.
Southern Mississippi–
Patchy fog in the morning, turning to sunshine with highs in the low to mid-80s. Becoming mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight tonight. Lows will be in the lower 60s.
