Southern Mississippi
It will be hazy today with afternoon showers and thunderstorms and highs in the lower 80s. There could be severe thunderstorms tonight, with lows in the mid to upper 60s.
Severe weather is possible over northern Mississippi starting Friday night, with a lesser threat further to the south. According to the National Weather Service, the storms could spawn damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes. Forecasters expect gusty winds to develop Friday morning across central, east-northeast to northwest parts of Mississippi, generally along and northwest of a line near Columbia to Quitman.
There’s a moderate risk for severe storms on Saturday afternoon. The main threat is tornadoes, damaging winds from 60-70 mph, and golf ball sized hail.
