Looking at your statewide forecast for Friday, July 12, it could be a mix of rain and sunshine to start the weekend. The following information is provided by the National Weather Service.

Northern Mississippi

Not much rain is expected in the northern part of the state with a mostly sunny day ahead expected. Highs will be in the mid 90s with head index ratings reading between 100 and 103 degrees. At nighttime, mostly clear skies will be seen with lows in the 70s.

Central Mississippi

Scattered showers are expected to break up some of the sunshine during   the day with highs in the mid to upper 90s. Heat index ratings could get up to 107 degrees. Come nightfall, the radar shows mostly clear skies with lows in the lower to mid 70s.

Southern Mississippi

Like the central part of the state, it could be a mix of rain and sunshine throughout the day in southern Mississippi. Be on the lookout for scattered storms in the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid 90s with heat index readings up to 109 degrees. As the sun sets, the chances of rain will lessen.
