PASCAGOULA, Miss.- The wrong number was listed on jury summons for hundreds of Mississippians. When they dialed, they were directed to a sex hotline.
Somewhere around 350 jury summons were printed with the wrong phone number and sent to potential jurors in Jackson County.
The County Circuit Clerk Randy Carney says that he isn’t sure how the mistake was made but that they began to get reports about in on Monday.
An apology letter has been drafted and will be sent out to the individuals effected soon. There is no word on who will be liable for any costs of those calls as of now.
New summon will be personally reviewed by Carney before mailed out.
