LONG BEACH, Miss. – The guy who was found dead on the beach in Long Beach may have killed himself.
Police are now accusing Amber May and Carrie Ferguson stripping Jeff Bennett of his clothes and dragging him to the beach after he killed himself at May’s house. They apparently dragged the body to avoid getting dragged into the investigation.
Some of Bennett’s cloths in a trash can near May’s house. An off duty officer who was jogging on the beach found Bennett’s body lying next to a handgun Tuesday morning.
The two women are being held at the Harrison County jail for tampering with evidence. Both of them are unable to post bail because felony probation warrants. May is on probation because a felony credit card fraud conviction, and Ferguson has a probation warrant out of Louisiana for the attempted operation of a drug lab.
