MOSS POINT, MISS– The woman wanted after a video went viral showing abuse of a cat has turned herself in to police.
WLOX reported Karmen Coleman turned herself in Friday. She is charged with rendering criminal assistance in regard to the video. She faces one year in prison and a 1,000 fine.
The video, which drew outrage from social media, showed a man pouring hot liquid on a caged cat. The cat died from the scalding injuries.
News Mississippi has reached out to the Moss Point Police Department for comment and is awaiting response.
