HATTIESBURG, Miss.- William Carey University will host a NASA recruitment event this week.
Workers with the NASA DEVELOP National Program will be at William Carey University in the lobby of Green Science Hall from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 22 to discuss internship possibilities with interested students.
The paid internship program is currently recruiting for the 2015 summer term, which runs from June 1 until August 7. In addition to the 10-week summer program, flexible 10-week internship opportunities during the fall and spring semesters are also available.
DEVELOP is a program that allows students to do research projects with the help of NASA scientists. The interns will get hands on experience in DEVELOP lead research projects utilizing NASA Earth observations and remote sensing to address community concerns and public policy issues.
Students with a strong interest in Earth sciences, environmental science, remote sensing, computer science, GIS, technology and environmental policy are strongly encouraged to apply. No previous experience is required in these areas.
Students currently enrolled in college courses and recent graduates from all majors, as well as early and transitioning career professionals (including transitioning or recently transitioned veterans from the Armed Forces) are eligible to apply.
