STARKVILLE, Miss. – The eighty-sixth battle for the Golden Egg between Ole Miss and Mississippi State is Thanksgiving Day. You can watch the game on ESPN this year. Kickoff is at 6:30 pm.
Ole Miss leads the series in Starkville 20 to 13 with three ties. Overall, the Rebels have a 61 to 42 lead in the series.
News Mississippi News Director Dixon Williams has his own predictions for the game.
“This ball game is really kind of like a one day war against Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Ole Miss comes in with a better record at seven and four. Between these two it doesn’t matter who is doing what coming into the ball game. It matters, is who wants it the most that day. Ole Miss has a better defense and a better offense. Mississippi State has a questioned quarterback, and that makes a big difference, but they have showed that they can pull games out with what they have; because, they step above what they are able to do. I would say, to be honest with you, Mississippi state might have a slight edge in this game, being a home. And Ole Miss has been at home six games in a row and this is the first road game they have had to play since then. I’m going to give about a three point edge to Mississippi State at home”
