JACKSON, Miss. – Getting the kids ready to head back to school means a lot of shopping. Mississippi’s Tax Free Holiday Weekend starts at 12:01 a.m. Friday and runs through midnight Saturday. During the two days, stores will not charge you the state’s seven percent sales tax on clothing and shoes that cost less than $100.
