TUPELO, Miss.- Tupelo and Columbus officials don’t want you to throw out your Christmas tree this year, they’re asking that you recycle it.
They want you to give it to them.
Today and tomorrow you can visit a drop of location and drop your tree off. Those locations include: Tupelo Dog Park, Theron Nichols Park, Ballard Park, Hancock Park, and Tupelo Compost Site.
In Columbus you can take it to the public works facility on Martin Luther King Drive or the Farmers Market.
They are asking that you make sure you’ve removed all lights and ornaments from the tree.
The city will be hosting a giant Christmas tree bonfire, Monday at 6 p.m. at the Riverwalk.
