JACKSON, MISS– Today’s highs only reaching the 80’s across the state, but rain and storms are expected, especially along interstate 20.
“How about cooler, wetter weather,” says Mike Edmunston with the National Weather Service in Jackson, “highs for Saturday are in the mid 80’s for North and Central Mississippi, high 80’s for South.”
Edmunston says this is a break from the extreme heat that hit all across Mississippi this week.
“It’s definitely a shift in the weather pattern,” says Edmunston.
While rain and thunderstorms are likely throughout the day Saturday, the National Weather Service says that severe weather is likely not going to happen this weekend, but that heavy rain and lightning could be a threat.
