JACKSON, Miss.–The Boys and Girls Club of Central Mississippi will be the beneficiary of some weekend fun going on in the state capital.
The Phoenix Club of Jackson will host their Annual Seersucker and Sombreros fundraiser event on Saturday.
Since 2007 the PCOJ has donated $120,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of Central Mississippi and that number will rise on Saturday.
“Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi make a significant impact on the lives of children in our community,” said Russell Turley, Phoenix Club of Jackson President. “And these children have made a significant impact on our organization and its members. We are committed to raising funds to sustain a safe, positive, constructive environment for at-risk children in our area.”
Over the last five years the Boys and Girls Club has valued the financial support greatly according to President Billy Redd.
“Their dedication, excitement and long-term commitment to the kids sets a strong example for our kids and the entire central Mississippi area.”
In a blend of the Kentucky Derby and Cinco de Mayo festivities, the celebration will include live music, food, drinks and more starting at 2pm and running all the way to 8pm at the River Hills Club in Jackson.
Door prizes will be given away throughout the afternoon to attendees.
