Joe Moorhead arrived at Mississippi State with a vow to bring the innovative and productive offense he ran at Penn State with him to Starkville. The last two games, that promise has gone unfulfilled as the Bulldogs have been unable to move the football, gaining 404 yards total in games against Florida and Kentucky with only 13 points total. On Monday as Moorhead spoke to the local media, he reiterated that assurance, that the Bulldog offense will be productive and explosive by season’s end.
Moorhead’s words will be put to the test this Saturday, as the Auburn Tigers come to Davis Wade Stadium, boasting the nation’s fifth ranked defensive unit. Can the Bulldogs find their way back, or will it be tough sledding yet again? I’ll have a lot more to say later today on SportsTalk Mississippi.
