WAYNESBORO, Miss.- Wayne County deputies had to arrest one of their own last week. Christopher Dale Williams was busted last Thursday for apparently smuggling drugs into the Wayne County Adult Detention Center.
Williams is facing a charge of delivering contraband to a correctional facility and with possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.
The sheriff’s department told WDAM-TV that an investigation began after the jail administrator heard about drugs being snuck into the jail, which led to a shakedown, where illegal contraband items were discovered.
Williams, who was on duty at the time, was arrested and booked into that very facility in which he was employed.
His bond was set a $3,500.
