TUPELO, Miss. – With the Fourth of July right around the corner North Mississippi farmers are struggling with this years crop of watermelons.
According to multiple reports, the unexpectedly wet spring has made it frustrating for farmers to harvest watermelons in the northern part of the state. Most of the Watermelons in area stores are from the Gulf Coast.
Roughly 3,000 acres of the magnolia state are dedicated to watermelon farming.
