What seems to be a national trend of illicit student-teacher relationships continues as a Mississippi educator was recently arrested for allegedly sending inappropriate photographs to an underage individual.
According to WTVA, Emily Swinkowski, 27, was charged with enticement of a child and child exploitation after the Water Valley High School art teacher was said to have sent the photos to a 16-year-old student whose identity is not being released due to age.
The report added that Swinkowski was apprehended after another student heard rumors of the incident and informed the principal. The principal then got local law enforcement involved, per the local TV station’s report.
Swinkowski resigned from her position and turned herself in to police on Monday, Nov. 6. She has since bonded out at $50,000.
