Redshirt freshman quarterback Matt Corral returned to practice on Tuesday after missing last week’s loss to Alabama with bruised ribs.
He suffered the injury the fourth quarter of the Rebels’ loss to Cal and did not practice all of last week leading up to the game in Tuscaloosa. Corral did not appear to be limited during the portion of practice the media was allowed to view. The coaching staff has remained tight-lipped as to who will start this weekend against Vanderbilt, though defensive lineman Qaadir Sheppard had a take on the matter.
Sheppard and outside linebackers coach Tyrone Nix discussed Vanderbilt’s running game headlined by Ke’Shawn Vaughn, generating a consistent pass rush and more
Royce Newman likes the seven-man rotation the Rebels used at Alabama with the new member of that rotation being redshirt freshman guard Jalen Cunningham, who played 43 snaps on Saturday. It was by far the most extensive game action of his young career.
