JACKSON, Miss. — You can’t miss it; and you probably won’t get around it either. A wide load coming through.
“This load is 20 feet wide, 13 feet high and 71 feet long; and it meets the weight requirement to travel over Mississippi’s roadways and bridges, which is 80,000 pounds or less,” said Mississippi Department of Transportation spokesperson Kenny Foote’.
Ron Montgomery Trucking is moving the load from Contract Fabricators in Holly Springs to the Louisiana State Line. The driver is trying to get there tonight. So he’s traveling some of the state’s major roads. “Interstate 55, Highway 82 and Highway 49 too,” said Foote’.
And because this load is so big, it will likely hog up more than one lane. “So please, please watch your speed,” said Foote’. “And watch out for all the trucks that may be following them. Sometimes they drive a lot slower than everybody else on the road.”
