Just one day after winning Super Bowl LIX and staving off a three-peat by the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni decided to show Mississippi and one of his star players some love when speaking to the media.
Fresh off the 40-22 bludgeoning of the AFC champions, the fourth-year frontman took the podium wearing a Starkville High School jersey with No. 15 on the front and back. Of course, those of us hailing the Magnolia State knew exactly who the NFL coach was representing — prolific wideout A.J. Brown.

Though Sirianni did not elaborate on his choice of attire, or even how he obtained Brown’s jersey for that matter, football fans, especially those from Mississippi were already well aware of the impact the three-time All-Pro has had on the field. This past season alone, the Starkville High standout turned Ole Miss Rebel amassed nine total touchdowns and 1,242 receiving yards for the title-winning Eagles.
The highlight of Brown’s most recent campaign was a 12-yard score in the Super Bowl, aiding in his team’s effort to avenge a title loss against the Chiefs two seasons ago.

Sirianni’s visible support for his wideout comes after those across the NFL world sensationalized remarks Brown had frustratedly espoused about the Eagles’ passing game earlier in the year as well as the former Rebel’s decision to read a book on the sidelines during a playoff game against the Green Bay Packers.
After spending three seasons in Oxford and winning a Conerly Trophy in the process, Brown was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He was traded to the Eagles ahead of the 2022 season, where he has thrived.
