The deadline for registering to vote is coming up. New Mississippi voters who are hoping to cast a ballot in the August 6th primary is Election only have a few days left to register to vote.
Mississippi’s registration deadline is Monday, July 8, 2019. Circuit Clerks’ offices will be open on Saturday, July 6 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m., and until 5 p.m. on Monday, July 8, to accept in-person applications and to receive applications sent by mail, which must have a postmark date of no later than July 8th.
“After the 4th of July, you will be feeling particularly patriotic and can go by Saturday morning,” said Hosemann. “Our Circuit Clerk’s will be working Saturday morning and they will be open from 8:00 a.m. to noon to register you to vote on Saturday morning to register, or you can go by on Monday.”
Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann says if new voters do not get their registration completed in time to vote in the August 6th primary, they should still complete and turn in their application because they will still be allowed to vote in the November general election.
Absentee ballots are being cast by Mississippians across the state and will continue until next month.
