Today is your last chance to get registered to vote if you want to cast a ballot in the upcoming general election on November 5th.

Mississippi’s in-person voter registration deadline is today at 5:00 p.m. Mail-in registration applications must be postmarked no later than today. To get registered, you can visit your local Circuit Clerk’s office or find out more on the Secretary of State’s website.

Prior to the runoff elections in August, more than 1.8 million Mississippians were registered to vote. According to the Secretary of State’s Office, census data estimates the state’s eligible voting-age population to be about 2.2 million.

Mississippi is one of just three states electing a new Governor in 2019. The Magnolia state will also elect a new Attorney General, Lt. Governor, Treasurer and Secretary of State. Several other statewide and local races will also be on the ballot for the general election.
