After nearly two years on the run, a murder suspect out of Virginia has been arrested in Mississippi.
Akea Faison, 33, was taken into custody on Tuesday by U.S. Marshals in Jackson. Faison was wanted for two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of conspiracy to commit murder, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and three counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
On March 5, 2023, Faison was allegedly involved in a robbery in Portsmouth, Va. The incident happened on Dale Drive where two males were shot and died due to their injuries.
According to a release, law enforcement discovered Faison was in Jackson and being employed under an assumed identity. Investigators were able to establish surveillance on a business in the 100 block of West Northside Drive and spotted Faison working there.
Faison was taken into custody without incident. She is currently being held at the Madison County Detention Center and awaiting extradition to Virginia for an initial court appearance.
