Valentine’s Day is a day for people to express their love and give gifts, especially chocolate, but have you ever wondered how the chocolate is made? We took a behind the scenes look at Nandy’s Candy in Jackson to find out how they get ready for what is sure to be a busy day.
Nandy’s Candy knows how to prepare for Valentine’s Day after being in business for 37 years.
Emmie King, owner and operator, said their chocolate covered strawberries are their most popular item, especially on Valentine’s Day.
“We make everything with sweet chocolate. We dip strawberries in chocolate, we hand make all kinds of assorted chocolate, we mold chocolate loves and hearts,” King said. “We just sell all things that are candy and confections.”
While many people think Valentine’s Day is the busiest day of the year for candy stores, King said it is actually the three days leading up to it that are the busiest, while they hand make all of their pre-ordered chocolates and candy.
