Vaccine Rights: Group asks for informed consent on shots

On the heels of the documentary “The Truth About Vaccines” being released online, the Mississippi Parents for Vaccine Rights (MPVR) organization is using the opportunity to share their message about vaccines in the state.

“It is naive to fail to look at vaccines as a contributing factor when they pass away within hours of vaccines being given to them,” said MPVR co-founder Lindey Magee.

Magee said the documentary, which will be available online April 12, will give parents the tools to ask the right questions before children are vaccinated.

“It is going to give parents access to data to give them the power to make truly informed decisions,” said Magee. “That’s something we don’t get now.. informed consent.”

Magee added that not all of the parents in MPVR are of the anti-vax mindset.

“Most of those parents want to vaccinate their children,” said Magee. “They just don’t want to do seven or eight before they are two months old.. they want truly informed consent.”

The co-founder added that she’s had parents who have told her they were “fired” by their pediatrician for not wanting to bundle vaccines, or avoid certain ones.

“They’ve told me of pediatricians who will no longer see them because they want to spread vaccines out, or they want to forgo the chickenpox vaccine,” said Magee.

The seven episode e-documentary touches on the following topics:

Episode 1: The History of Vaccines, Smallpox, Vaccine Safety & the Current CDC Schedule
Episode 2: What’s in a Vaccine? Are Vaccines Effective? … and … What About Polio?
Episode 3: In Depth Analysis of the MMR and DTaP Vaccines & Vaccinating for the Greater Good
Episode 4: Examining Influenza, the HIB and Pneumococcal Vaccines & Herd Immunity
Episode 5: Considering the HPV and Hepatitis B Vaccines, SIDS & Shaken Baby Syndrome
Episode 6: A Closer Look at the CDC, Chicken Pox and Rotavirus Vaccines & Retroviruses
Episode 7: Natural Immunization, Homeoprophylaxis & Fundamental Freedom of Choice
