SPOKANE, Wash. – A former Washington VA Medical Center physician has been indicted on charges he traveled to Meridian, Miss. and filmed sexual acts with children.
Craig Morgenstern, 46, was in federal court Wednesday afternoon to begin facing 36 counts of child sex charges including aggravated sexual abuse. Nearly half of the charges is connected to one child from Meridian. But documents showed there are also at least five other victims either in Washington and Idaho, or Mississippi and Tennessee. Investigators said Morgenstern made several trips to each of those states for several years to have sex with children. The pornographic images were recorded and shared with others.
Morgenstern pleaded not guilty and was immediately taken back to the Spokane County jail. That’s where he has been since October after he was accused of giving a 13 year old drugs and sexually assaulting him at his Washington home.
