For the third time this season, Southern Miss will have a game affected by COVID-19.
COVID-19 concerns within the Golden Eagle football program has caused the cancellation of Friday’s matchup with UAB, according to a news release from USM Athletics.
By using the term “canceled” in the announcement, it appears that, unlike the matchups with UTEP and FAU, this game will not be made up.
Saturday’s matchup was supposed to be the final game for UAB at historic Legion Field in Birmingham.
As of now, USM will travel to UTEP next Friday before closing the season at home against FAU.
