Columbus, Miss.– A $30,000 grant from the USDA lets Mississippi University for Women start an entrepreneur certification program.
Thanks to a grant from the USDA Mississippi University for Women will soon have a free, online entrepreneur certification.
“We hope for this class to prepare someone to start up or maintain their small business,” says Kate Brown, Program Director for the grant, “we’ll use the grant money to make this free of charge.”
The certification program will equip small business owners or those who hope to start a business in the area with marketing, finances, and management.
“The goal is to increase their knowledge to start their business successfully,” says Brown.
The class won’t cost you anything, and you won’t have to enroll in the university. Though anyone can use the course, it is geared toward four rural counties: Lowndes, Clay, Noxubee and Monroe. The class is not yet scheduled.
