The Mississippi Department of Corrections is still seeking two Parchman escapees and the monetary reward has been increased to $10,000 for information leading to the capture of James R. Sanders and Ryan Young.
Sanders, 41, is serving life for homicide/murder in Lafayette County. He was sentenced in July 2000.
Young, 22, is serving 40 years for burglary of a vehicle, burglary of a residence, grand larceny, and possession of firearms by a convicted felon in Claiborne County. He was sentenced in 2015.
“In partnership with local, state and federal law enforcement, we are exhausting all search efforts to find these inmates,” Commissioner Pelicia E. Hall said today. “We have had no confirmed sightings. However, we are working around the clock in various ways.”
The two men are believed to have escaped Unit 30 between late Sunday night and early Monday morning.
Sanders, a white male, and Young, a black male, both of whom stand at 5 feet 9 inches tall, are considered armed and dangerous.
If you know of these men’s whereabouts or have information about them, call the MDOC at 662-745-6611, ext. 4200.
