Monday morning a Pike County woman shot her two daughters before ending her own life.
The mother, Shequita Stanciel called the police and said that she just shot her seven and 17-year-old daughters. saying she couldn’t do ‘this’ anymore and that she didn’t want to live any longer.
Pike County Chief Investigator Chris Bell said Stanciel spoke to central dispatch saying she couldn’t do ‘this’ anymore and that she didn’t want to live any longer.
When pike county deputies arrived they were met by Osyka Police Chief Brian Mullins who was exiting the residence with the 7-year-old in his arms. She was suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach.

Bell said the 17-year-old daughter ran from the residence with a gunshot wound to the chest and that both girls were taken to the hospital where the 7-year-old was airlifted to Jackson for surgery and is currently recovering from surgery. The
The 17-year-old is expected to make a full recovery and will possibly be released Tuesday afternoon.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation assisted the Pike County Sherriff’s Department with the investigation.
Bell said that Chief Mullins’ knowledge of the family helped control
the incident as family members arrived on scene. Bell added that Mullins was very
emotional himself, due to him knowing the family.
