The University of Mississippi’s English Department is speaking out about the campus’s Confederate Statue.
The English Department at Ole Miss wrote a letter to Chancellor Jeffery Vitter asking him to relocate the monument to the Confederate cemetery on campus. Saying that it was a much more appropriate resting place for a tribute to fallen soldiers.
In the letter, they said that the cemetery was a much more appropriate resting place for a tribute to fallen soldiers.
As of September 1st, the letter was signed by 40 professors within the English department, over 30 masters and doctoral students, as well as, some 30 alumni.
