Two teenagers have been taken into custody and charged for the murder of Lake High School football player Travis Jones.
Last week, Jones was killed after being shot in the head near the intersection of Old Highway 80 and Johnson Town Road, with his truck receiving multiple bullet holes as well. Jones was a senior starter on the team’s defensive line with 20 tackles recorded for the season.
A 13-year-old also received non-life-threatening injuries in the shooting and was treated for a fractured tibia at a local hospital.
Now, according to Scott County Sheriff Mike Lee, two 16-year-olds have been charged for the death of Jones and an 18-year-old has been taken into custody as a person of interest.
