Two students have been arrested for allegedly making a threat against a school in North Mississippi.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Department (LCSD), authorities and schools officials in Shannon were made aware of a threat posted to social media this morning.
Following an investigation, the two students were arrested upon their arrival at the school.
*The post from LCSD has not clarified which school in Shannon that the students attend.
Authorities then determined that one student texted the threat to another student who then posted it on social media.
LCSD has stated that “at no point was the threat to be carried out,” but further explained that “anyone making such statements with the intent to carry out a certain crime, or false threat of such, to disrupt a school will be prosecuted.”
