JACKSON, Miss.- You may have a newborn and want to spend as much time with them as possible, but sleeping with them at night is never a good idea. A parent found that out the hard way this weekend when she was sleeping next to her 2-month-old baby and rolled over on top of the infant accidentally killing the baby.
That child was found dead at the Jackson home around 10 a.m. Sunday. Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart confirmed that the death of the two-month-old infant was accidental and was caused by an accidental rollover while the baby was sleeping with a parent.
Jackson Police Department spokeswoman Officer Colendula Green said there likely won’t be charges filed in the case, but she said it could be sent to a grand jury.
