Two Mississippi women’s basketball players will be tossing their hats in the ring for a shot to compete at the professional level.
Mississippi State center and Gillom Trophy winner Jessika Carter as well as Ole Miss guard Marquesha Davis have declared for the WNBA Draft. Both have run out of eligibility to continue their college playing days.
Carter averaged a double-double consisting of 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Bulldogs this past season which ended in a 92-87 loss to Penn State in the WBIT.

Davis, who began her college career at Arkansas, helped lead the Lady Rebels to the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive year. The team was ousted by Notre Dame 71-56 in the second round of the Big Dance. Davis averaged 14 points and nearly five rebounds per game in the 2023-2024 campaign.

The WNBA Draft will take place on April 15.
