TUPELO, Miss.–The Tupelo Regional Airport runway is undergoing some costly repairs right now.
Executive Director Josh Abramson told WTVA Wednesday that a portion of the runway was deemed urgent for repair in a meeting last week with the TRA Authority Board.
The costs for the upgrade hasn’t been cheap either and the report states the Tupelo City Council will pay out almost $107,000 for it.
This particular stretch of ground is used by three businesses and one of those is the company that disassembles old planes on site there at the TRA.
The area for the repair is 200 feet by 50 feet.
