The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office is on the lookout for a pair of men suspected of trying to lure minors into their van with promises of candy and puppies.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call regarding an attempted kidnapping on Wednesday evening from a residence in the Dundee area. At the scene, a parent informed deputies that their minor child was approached by a white, older, possibly Chevrolet model passenger van occupied by two males wearing masks.
Officers describe the van as having tinted windows with black stripes down either side of the van. They also say that the men in the van attempted to lure the child into the van by saying they had candy and puppies inside the vehicle. The child is said to have immediately alerted adults at the location of the incident.
The investigation in this case is ongoing, and the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office urged the public to contact them with any information regarding the case at 662-363-1411.
