OXFORD, MISS– After a back-and-forth with the lead on Saturday, Tulane defeated Ole Miss 6-5 in the NCAA Oxford Regional, ending the season for the Rebels.
The lead was secured in the top of the ninth with a home run slammed by Tulane’s Jake Rogers.
The Rebs held the lead in the bottom of the fifth, but it was exchanged in the seventh before Tulane pulled ahead in the ninth.
The Rebels record for the Oxford regional was 0-2, after taking losses from both Tulane and Utah. The loss from Utah came in extra innings Friday and the final score 6-5. The Rebels are the tenth host team to go 0-2 since the tournament expanded to 64 teams back in 1999, according to ESPN.
