MERIDIAN, Miss.–Two people who had been missing on the Chunky River after they went tubing Sunday afternoon were found alive about 3 a.m. Monday, according to information from the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Dept.
The two had been tubing with a group and got separated. Two others were able to make it back to camp and call authorities.
A command post was setup along the river, with volunteers and emergency personnel. They used ATVs and other off-road vehicles to search for the two.
The info that News Mississippi was able to get from the sheriff’s department is that both people were taken to the hospital, but that no serious harm was done.
