President Trump will be in Mississippi today to campaign for U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith during two rallies. However, the President will also tackle criminal justice reform while visiting Mississippi.
Governor Phil Bryant said the roundtable discussion will take place in Biloxi. Local law enforcement and prosecutors will meet with President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. Jared Kushner, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, and Governor Bryant will also be in attendance to help lead the discussion on prison reform at the national level.

“We think this is a historic opportunity for the President to lead on criminal justice and corrections reform,” said Governor Bryant. “He is excited about it. We here in Mississippi led the way in 2014 so, I am proud to work with the President on this and look forward to the first act being passed by the U.S. Senate.”
Bryant has gone to the White House several times to meet with the President and Jared Kushner on prison reform sharing Mississippi’s successes of working to create prisons drug and crime-free zones so that the inmates have a better opportunity for rehabilitation.
Completely agree.
We should take up criminal justice reform in December.
