MIAMI, Fla.–Tropical Storm Gabrielle became official late Wednesday and as of Thursday morning had maximum sustained winds of 40 mph. But, the storm was not expected to affect Mississippi.
Gabrielle was bringing heavy rains to Puerto Rico and tropical storm warnings have been issued for the Dominican Republic.
The storm’s track takes it just slightly northwest, then eastward out into the Atlantic, as it looks now.
News Mississippi will keep you up to date on any tropical system that could affect the Magnolia State.
