Three men are behind bars in Jackson County after being caught cutting power lines.
Jackson County Sheriff John Ledbetter reports that 57-year-old Robert Brooks, 42-year-old Jeremiah Johnson, and 53-year-old Jason Lamkin were discovered to be cutting power wires owned by AT&T.
The crew was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon, booked into the Jackson County Adult Detention Center, and each charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and destroying state or federal communications systems.
Johnson was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and probation violations. He and Brooks are being held without bond.
The initial court hearing for the men is set for Wednesday, although the investigation into cut power lines is ongoing and more arrests are possible.
