BLUE SPRINGS, Miss.- Toyota Mississippi celebrates the production of their first Corolla for export to 18 countries in Central and South America and to the Caribbean.
The Mississippi built car will start exporting their cars today. External Affairs for Toyota Victor Vanov says, “By adding export models from Blue Springs, people are now going to see that Mississippi quality and safety is built into every Corolla that comes off the line here.”
This is a huge move for Toyota and great for the Blue Springs manufacturing facility. Approximately 7,500 Mississippi built Corollas will be exported this year. Vanov said, “Because of Mississippi starting to export these vehicles, nine U.S. assembled Toyota models from all of our four U.S. plants will now be exported to 32 countries around the world, so it makes steady use for us here in Blue Springs.”
Blue Springs Toyota plant will be running at optimal capacity and it increases opportunity for suppliers locally and throughout the U.S.
There are currently 2,000 people building these vehicles at the plant. They have been building the cars for just over two years now. Quality and safety are the highest priority for the Blue Springs plant and now they can share that with 18 countries.
