JACKSON, Miss.–Following a deadly tornado outbreak Monday in Mississippi, you still have a reason to be on alert. The eastern half of the state is under a moderate risk for more tornadoes.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Mark McAllister told News Mississippi that you can expect the same kinds of storms that came through Monday, including hail, wind, lightening and twisters.
“There’s the possibility for a few tornadoes,” he said. “I don’t think it’s gonna be as many tornadoes as it was yesterday, but we’re under a moderate risk for the east, mainly for this afternoon.”
He said you can expect severe weather between noon and 7 p.m., mainly in areas along and east of I-55, which divides the state vertically.
