A toddler has been found safe in Mississippi after being kidnapped in Louisiana.
According to Ridgeland Police Chief Brian Myers, the Mississippi Highway Patrol alerted authorities in central Mississippi about a potential custodial kidnapping. A Ridgeland police officer later discovered a vehicle matching the description given by MHP.
The officer waited for reinforcement from other law enforcement to prevent a possible chase. Authorities were able to stop the vehicle on I-55 between Madison and Gluckstadt, bring the child to safety, and take the unidentified father into custody.
No further details have been released by officials at this time.
