Michael Trigg is no longer a part of the Ole Miss football team.
Head coach Lane Kiffin confirmed Trigg’s departure from the team and said he wishes the junior well in his future endeavors.
“Yeah, we wish him nothing but the best,” Kiffin said during the SEC coaches’ teleconference. “That’s it. [We] wish him nothing but the best and he’s not part of our program. That’s it.”
Sources tell SuperTalk Mississippi News that the USC transfer had skipped multiple practices and had been an “issue” in the locker room prior to his departure.
Trigg arrived at Ole Miss in the spring of 2022 with quarterback Jaxson Dart. In 10 games with the Rebels, the tight end recorded 21 receptions for 221 yards and four touchdowns.
A spokesman with the university’s athletics department also confirmed that linebacker Reginald Hughes is no longer with the team.
Ole Miss (3-0, 0-1 SEC), now ranked No. 20 in the latest Associated Press poll, opened conference play with a 24-10 loss at Alabama.
