DURANT, Miss.–If hearing about a child being severely beaten offends you, then you might not want to read any further. Then again, the story does does have an ending where the man accused might get his commupence.
It happened in Durant early Sunday, but the story is just now making its way out of Holmes County after the arrest of 36-year-old Kevin Cowans, according to Sheriff Willie March.
It was his girlfriend’s son and he was brought in to the local hospital with what looked like large welts all over his body, almost like a flogging. The child is doing well now.
Cowans is charged with felony child abuse and domestic violence. The mom was not facing any charges, but March said the investigation was still going on.
